Employee tests: Experience quality before it reaches the market
Practical testing by our employees is a central element of our development process. It gives us valuable feedback from real-life situations, which helps us to customise our products even more effectively to suit our customers’ needs. Diana Beyer works in research and development and is responsible for the employee tests. She describes the added value of this concept as follows:
“It gives us an insight into the actual use of the products under real-life conditions that cannot be simulated in the laboratory. We also get feedback from a customer perspective which enables us identify areas we can improve on at an early stage. This direct practical test ensures that our products are not only beneficial under ideal conditions in the laboratory, but also in everyday use. The enthusiasm of the employees is obvious, and many come back after the tests and ask when the products will finally be launched on the market.
A harmonised process for the highest standards
The testing process begins with the development of several product versions which are stored under various laboratory conditions such as at room temperature, 5 °C and 40 °C and subjected to stability testing which can take up to twelve weeks. Only the most stable versions go through to the next phase – the practical test by our employees. These tests are planned precisely to obtain feedback that is as accurate as possible.
We also commission external tests by independent institutes that supplement our development process. This provides us with a scientifically sound confirmation of quality and effectiveness claims and underlines our high standards which by far exceed the market standard.
One example: The Camomile Hand Cream
One product that perfectly embodies this high standard is our best-selling Camomile Hand Cream. Diana Beyer explains as follows:
“After gardening or housework my hands are often dry and worn. The Camomile Hand Cream is quickly absorbed, is non-sticky and has a wonderful fragrance. It’s one of my essentials!”
